Supernatural Faith

Faith. It's often used as an interchangeable word with religion in regards to the description of the belief in God. It's thrown around as a politically correct way to acknowledge that someone believes in a higher power, without having to mention Jesus or God by name. Faith, however, is not confined to a generalized description of the acceptance of a creator, it is a greatly powerful action by one who hears the Word of God. Unfortunately, the western church society is comprised of large amounts of people that believe only according to what they have been taught, substituting intelligence in place of experience. Faith becomes confined to what a denomination has decided to allow, and it's powerful reach into your life is restricted based on lifeless church doctrine. Biblical faith, when taught in its actual form, is often said to be heretical or diabolical because of the conflict it presents with what the church has decided to accept or allow. If your church doesn't teach or believe in faith, the gifts of the Spirit, God's power to do miracles and deliver prophecies through His people, then you are being starved spiritually and robbed from experiencing His fullness. Now having said that, if you're in a great church that has fire and glory, prophecies and the presence, you cannot rely solely on hearing the teaching, we have to have our own personal intimacies with God. How? By faith. Now faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, so if your faith is lacking you need to open your Bible and hear what God says about the things we have access to as Spirit filled believers.

Hebrews chapter 11 is a staple for the application of faith. When we read the Word, we must know that if God is the same yesterday, today and forever, then when the Bible shows us that if something worked for people in the past, it will still work for us now.

Enoch walked with God. Not in the way that most think of when they ask "how's your walk with God?" Enoch was in the Presence of God. He had a life, he had a family, he fathered Methuselah and other sons and daughters. But at the age of 65 he began to walk with God more than before. For 300 years, he walked with God so closely that it pleased God enough to take Enoch to be with Him in Heaven. Hebrews 11:5-6 tells us that Enoch's walk was by faith. So then we too have access to this walk with God if we can have faith for it. How many hours have you spent in your prayer chair, your prayer closet, or wherever it is you decide to isolate yourself with the Lord? David said "Truly my soul silently waits for God" and "I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches." Have you spent the night praising, worshiping and releasing faith for an encounter with Him? Have you asked for a face to face encounter? Moses did. Not only did He see the back of God Himself, but He was present for the transfiguration of Jesus. Our churches and denominations may have taught us that this is not normal prayer, its "way out there" or not okay, but if you're hungry for God, why wouldn't it be normal?

When you pray you should experience the Presence of God. It only requires faith, and once you experience it, you will grow your faith, and by growing your faith you can have His presence each time you pray, and that will grow into a walk with God.

Another kind of faith is one where God may instruct you to do something, however, if you are able to rationalize it, or come at it with logic, you've removed the faith out of your actions. Obedience does not equate to obedience-by-faith. His will--His way is how to operate in faith. Abram was told to leave his land and go, and he did it in faith. He went out not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in foreign countries not knowing the destination, but hanging on the words of God. If God tells you to do something, the greatest reward comes in the faith, not just the obedience. Example: God can say, give $500 to [fill in the blank]. That may be a great stretch for you, requiring BIG  faith to do so, and after waffling you give $500 in $50 installments, because, logically speaking, that makes sense, it doesn't hurt as bad and you meet the bottom line of His request. In this instance, the lack of faith to obey exactly as He instructed has you removed from the position of maximum blessing because of the compromise.

In the Spirit realm, which we also can enter into by faith, Ezekiel was shown a valley filled with dry bones. The Lord commanded him to prophesy life and as he did the bones assembled, grew flesh, and stood to their feet as an army. If Ezekiel lacked in faith, he certainly would not have been a prophet, or in the Spirit realm, nor would he have called bones to life. So that begs to question, what dead things are in your life because your faith does not extend into the prophetic?

During Jesus' ministry, time after time, miracle after miracle, he responded with "your faith has healed you" or "let it be done unto you according to your faith." Jesus did not heal because of His power or who He was, it was unlocked by the faith of those in need. Matthew 15:38 explains that Jesus could not do many miracles where He was that day because of the crowds unbelief. They literally had a physical encounter with the Savior and could not receive from him because their lack of faith. That is a bad group to be in. If your faith resembles a "crossing my fingers" kind of hope, then it needs drastic change and strengthening. You do not want to miss out on your miracle because you don't believe.

Faith is far beyond the acknowledgement that Jesus is the Messiah. It reaches farther than believing that He is resurrected. This is just the tip of the iceberg on faith. Its power will unlock your calling, your face to face encounters with Jesus, your destiny, your visits to heaven, they are all waiting if you will believe for them. Press into God, praise Him and experience His presence everyday. Release your faith for angelic encounters. Start acting as though your faith can work for you as it did in the Bible, because it can.
